Jonathan Bayer
DirectorJonathan Bayer was appointed as a director of Argo Group in April 2024. Bayer currently serves as a Managing Partner with Brookfield Wealth Solutions (“Brookfield”) and is responsible for mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Bayer served as Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Development, at Fidelity & Guaranty Life. He was previously an investment banker, focused on advising insurance companies on M&A and capital raising transactions. Bayer holds a Bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University.
Gregory Morrison
DirectorGregory Morrison was appointed as a director of Argo Group in April 2024. Morrison sits on a number of property, casualty and life insurance company boards and their subsidiaries, including Trisura Group Ltd., Aetna Life and Casualty (Bermuda) Limited, Multi-Strat Holdings Ltd., Property Insurance Company of America, Aspen Bermuda Ltd., Stonybrook Capital LLC and various international subsidiaries of Brookfield Corporation. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Trisura Group Ltd., Imagine Group Holdings Ltd., Platinum Underwriters Holdings Ltd. and London Reinsurance Group Inc. Morrison is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (retired).
Anne Schaumberg
DirectorAnne Schaumberg was appointed as a director of Argo Group in April 2024. Schaumberg has served as a director of Brookfield Infrastructure Partners since November 2008 and Chair of its board of directors since February 2020. Schaumberg is a member of the board of directors of NRG Energy, Inc., a power generation company listed on NYSE. She is also a director of Brookfield Reinsurance Partners. Prior to that, she served as Managing Director of the global energy group of Credit Suisse First Boston. Schaumberg also served as Managing Director in the utilities group at Dean Witter Financial Services Group and as a member of the public utilities group at First Boston Corporation.
Sachin Shah
DirectorSachin Shah was appointed as a director of Argo Group in April 2024. Shah currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Wealth Solutions (“Brookfield”). In this role, he is responsible for overall leadership and management of Brookfield and sets its strategic direction as a leading capital solutions business, providing insurance and reinsurance services to individuals and institutions. Shah initially joined Brookfield in 2002 and has held a variety of senior roles, including Chief Investment Officer of Brookfield Asset Management and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Renewable Partners where he was instrumental in growing the platform into a global business diversified across multiple technologies. Shah holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.

Chief Executive Officer
Jessica Buss joined Argo Group in August 2022. As Chief Executive Officer, she is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the company and managing its overall operations. Buss previously served as President of U.S. Insurance at Argo Group. Before that, she was President and Chief Executive Officer at GuideOne Insurance. Buss has deep leadership experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, having served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Rockhill Insurance Group and as Chief Financial Officer at Citizens Property Insurance Company.
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Donahue joined Argo Group in November 2023. As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for reporting on the company’s financial standing to shareholders and mapping projections for the company’s financial future. Donahue previously served as Senior Vice President at Brookfield Asset Management in addition to roles at Lazard, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup. Donahue has a Master of Business Administration from University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a Master of Modern History from University of St. Andrews.
Head of Operations
Michelle Glasl joined Argo Group in September 2022. As Head of Operations, she oversees Information Technology, Security, Operations and Communications at the company. Glasl previously served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Argo Group. Prior to that, she served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer at GuideOne Insurance. She also served as Vice President of Technology at State Auto.
General Counsel
Michael Tiliakos joined Argo Group in April 2020. As General Counsel he is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal and compliance teams. Tiliakos previously served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Argo Group. Prior to Argo Group, Tiliakos held numerous positions in the legal field, including positions at Goodman Networks and Duane Morris LLP. He has a JD, Law from New York Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice from Penn State University.
Chief Claims Officer
Mark Wade joined Argo Group in December 2015. As Chief Claims Officer, he is responsible for managing and implementing claims programs for all lines of insurance. He also partners with senior executives to formulate strategic plans and policies to consistently meet the claims-handling needs of Argo Group’s clients and policyholders. Wade previously served as Chief Claims Officer for U.S. Operations before assuming his role as Chief Claims Officer group-wide in June 2020. He previously served as Executive Director of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board and Deputy Superintendent for Property and Casualty Insurance at New York State’s Department of Financial Services. Before entering public service in 2014, Wade served in several senior roles with Arch Insurance Group, Zurich North America and Marsh USA. He began his industry career with Chubb, where he handled directors and officers claims. Wade is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and is admitted to the New York and Pennsylvania state bars.
Chief Investment Officer
Michael Cannon joined Argo Group in April 2017. As Chief Investment Officer, he is responsible for the oversight and management of the company’s investment strategy and portfolio, including asset allocation and investment selection. Cannon previously served as Vice President, Head of Investment Research at Argo Group. He has more than 20 years of experience serving in senior and finance management roles, including Managing Director, Co-Head of CLOs and Credit Markets Platform at CRG, LP; Director of Research at Ouray Capital; Director, ORIX Finance Proprietary Investing at ORIX USA; and Vice President, Global Corporate & Investment Bank at Bank of America. He earned his Master of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and his Bachelor of Science in accounting at Syracuse University.
Chief Accounting Officer
David Chan joined Argo Group in February 2022. As Chief Accounting Officer, he is responsible for global accounting operations and all corporate finance transactions. Chan previously served as Vice President, North American Controller at AmTrust. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Senior Accounting Analyst at Moody’s. He previously held a senior role at S&P Global Ratings. Chan earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the City University of New York – Queens College and started his career as an auditor at PwC, New York.

Head of Casualty
David Corry joined Argo Group in September 2020. As Head of Casualty, he is responsible for leading Primary Casualty, Excess Casualty, Construction, Environmental, Rockwood, and Bermuda Casualty. Corry previously served as Senior Vice President, Head of Environmental at Argo Group. He has in-depth experience in all lines of casualty insurance, having served as Senior Director at Markel Specialty and Vice President at Liberty Mutual. He also held senior positions at Chubb and Crum & Forster. Corry is a veteran of the armed forces, having served for 29 years in the Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Head of Argo Pro
Steve Boughal joined Argo Group in September 2022. As Head of Argo Pro , he is responsible for leading an underwriting team dedicated to finding effective management and professional liability coverage solutions for companies in all industries of all sizes. He has a wealth of experience across financial lines products and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Risk Manager. Boughal previously served as Financial Lines Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and Head of Financial Institutions at Zurich North America. Prior to that, he was the Financial Lines CUO at The Hartford and held other positions at Travelers, Kemper Insurance and American International Group (AIG). Boughal has a bachelor’s degree in applied quantitative economics from the University of Rhode Island.
Head of Specialty Property & Programs
Ari Chester joined Argo Group in November 2023. As Head of Specialty Property & Programs, he oversees the Garage, Inland Marine and Alternative Risk and Programs businesses. Chester previously served as Head of Reinsurance for the U.S. and Canada at SiriusPoint. Prior to that, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company. Over his 14 years at the firm, he held several leadership roles in the insurance practice, including Underwriting, Risk, Strategy, and Advanced Analytics, and focused generally on commercial lines and specialty markets. Chester has a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University; and holds the CPCU and ARe designations.
Head of Argo Insurance – Bermuda
Bill Wharton joined Argo Group in December 2015. As Head of Argo Insurance Bermuda, he is responsible for managing the teams and underwriting activities at Argo’s Bermuda offices. Wharton previously served as Head of Financial Lines, Asia, at Catlin. Prior to that, he served as Chief Underwriting Officer for XL Group’s professional lines underwriting activities outside the U.S. and Bermuda. He was Vice President, Professional Lines, for XL Insurance in Bermuda, serving U.S. Fortune 500 companies. Wharton holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
SVP Marketing, Communications & Producer Management
David Snowden joined Argo Group in September 2015. He is responsible for leading Marketing, Communications and Producer Management. He previously led external communications for Natixis Global Asset Management; corporate public relations at The Hartford Financial Services Group; and various positions at USAA. Snowden has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Incarnate Word College and a master’s in organizational communications from St. Mary’s University.
